Every year we celebrate Valentines day with a candle light dinner...for the WHOLE family. Nothing says love like a romantic dinner with your husband and 1..2..3..4 kids. After all wasn't it cupid that got us where we are today?
It has become tradition that we have homemade spaghetti and meatballs...think Lady and the Tramp. Of course it has to be accompanied by bread, a big green salad, and some thing pink and bubbly to drink. We usually have great big homemade cream puffs, filled with vanilla custard and covered in chocolate for dessert. This year things had to be scaled back just a little thanks to Mom being under the weather...so we made due with pink cookies. Not chocolate but just as yummy...almost!
The funny thing is I forget how nicely my kids behave at the dinner table when we eat by candle light. Everyone talks in hushed voices and nobody burps...not that my kids ever do that in the first place!
